The main thing I would like to emphasise about my role as Group Financial Controller is that the role is very broad, where I generally work with a combination of group accounting and system issues in an international environment, which on a daily basis means that I get to dig into small details but also have an overview of the group.
My work includes, among other things, monthly consolidation and reconciliation of the Group and quality assurance and analysis of reported material from the Group’s Swedish and foreign subsidiaries. On a quarterly basis, I participate in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related reconciliations, reports and analyses in accordance with IFRS standards. Furthermore, I am also involved in the preparation of interim reports and annual reports for the Group and participate in the audit process. Last but not least, I also have overall system responsibility for the financial system in the foreign subsidiaries in Germany and Finland, which means, for instance, that I document procedures for system maintenance and identify the need for changes and development of functionalities in these.
The best thing about my job is that I get to learn new things all the time, that in my daily work I get to work a lot with people in other departments in our office but also with our foreign colleagues, which contribute to knowledge exchange, and that I work in a company where I feel that I can develop and that we at Hemsö actually contribute to something bigger.
Most importantly, I have the best colleagues and therefore always have a lot of fun at work.
