Stimulating learning environments
The school is an important place for children and young peoples learning, reflection and physical activity. Together with teachers, students and other school personnel, we create safe and stimulating indoor and outdoor environments according to needs and opportunities, both in existing properties and in new construction.
Premises for education is Hemsö’s second largest property category and accounted for 36 per cent of the total property value at year-end.
Increased need
For education, the development in the younger and older age groups is important as the demand for public services is expected to increase in line with population growth. Despite a downward trend in population growth in the younger age category in Sweden, we see a continued need to modernise school buildings.
The property category has grown rapidly and is currently a significant part of the public property market. In contrast to nursing homes, the need for educational premises is somewhat more difficult to predict, as the age groups can vary.
