Hemsö acquires property for the legal sector in Finland
- Non-regulatory informationHemsö is acquiring its first property for the legal sector in Finland. The property is situated in Hämeenlinna and comprises a lettable area of about 4,700 sqm. The purchase price amounts to approximately SEK 87 million.
The property is located in central Hämeenlinna, 100 kilometres north of Helsinki. The tenant is the Finnish state and the majority of the premises are occupied by Hämeenlinna Administrative Court, Tavastia City Court and the Finnish Enforcement Authority.
“The acquisition in Hämeenlinna paves the way for the establishment of another category in properties for public use in Finland. We already own properties for education, nursing homes and health care in the country, and we can now add premises for the legal sector to this list. Hämeenlinna is a growing city and a good match for our strategy of investing in properties for public use with public sector tenants in high-growth regions. We will continue to expand in all four property categories,” says Jarkko Leinonen, Hemsö’s Head of Region Finland.
The remaining lease period is six years. The seller of the property is the privately owned property company Renor and Hemsö will assume possession of the property immediately. Leimdörfer and Krogerus served as advisors for this transaction.
