Hemsö has renewed the leases for seven schools with its tenant AcadeMedia. The rental leases comprise a total of 27,000 sqm and the contract periods are for 10 and 15 years. In conjunction with the negotiations, the parties have agreed on a standard framework agreement.
The renewed agreements relate to schools in Stockholm County, Västerås and Norrköping. The content of the agreements in question is based on the framework agreement. The framework agreement regulates such matters as the terms and conditions for the allocation of responsibility between the parties in respect of operation and maintenance, procedures for handling damage and the fulfilment of regulatory requirements. The agreements also contain undertakings to collaborate with regard to future energy investments associated with the properties and the use of the “Sunda Hus” database to ensure the selection of environmentally friendly materials when conducting renovations. The framework agreement will be applied in all future collaborations.
“We are pleased to deepen our partnership with AcadeMedia, which is one of our largest private tenants and the renewed agreement gives us a stable foundation that we can proceed from. The new framework agreement will significantly simplify future collaboration between AcadeMedia and Hemsö. Negotiations regarding the rental leases will now be much quicker and smoother,” says Rikard Nyhrén, Head of Asset Management at Hemsö.
“We are pleased to have secured a framework agreement with Hemsö, which is a strategically important landlord for AcadeMedia and our operations. AcadeMedia is a growing company and the new framework agreement provides us with improved conditions moving forward, with Hemsö as landlord,” says Andreas Nisser, Head of Asset Management at AcadeMedia.
