The Hemsö Gift brings joy to schools and preschools
This year, 13 educational operations from north to south have received support from Hemsö to create everything from outdoor classrooms, insect hotels and football tables to seesaws and sandboxes – initiatives that add a touch of sparkle to everyday life and can be enjoyed by both staff and children.
A cherished tradition
The Hemsö Gift has been distributed since 2015. Every year, our tenants have the opportunity to apply for a grant for their organisation. The grant is intended to make everyday life easier and more enriching for the people who spend time at Hemsö’s properties on a daily basis.
See this year’s recipients hereNils Styf, CEO at Hemsö– The ‘Hemsö Gift’ is a tradition I’m proud of. It’s our way of brightening up the lives of our tenants and others who spend time in our buildings. It feels important to be part of adding a little extra sparkle to everyday life.
This year’s recipients of the Hemso Gift
Among this year’s recipients is Synonymen’s preschool in Staffanstorp, which has been awarded the 2025 Hemso Gift to improve the preschool’s outdoor environment and playground facilities with a seesaw. Peter Landin, headteacher, comments:
Peter Landin, Principal at Synonymens Preschool in Staffanstorp– We want to take a holistic approach to developing the preschool’s outdoor environment, and Hemsö’s contribution is very welcome. The reason we’ve chosen a seesaw in particular is that they tend to be very popular with the children when we visit playgrounds in the local area.

Kunskapsskolan in Ystad is another of this year’s recipients:

Raoul Wallenberg’s preschool in Upplands Väsby is another delighted recipient:
Marie Anestedt, principal at Raoul Wallenberg’s preschool in Upplands Väsby– We ordered a new sandbox for the preschool’s large playground as soon as we found out that we were one of the recipients of the Hemsö donation. The donation from Hemsö made it possible to fulfil the children’s wishes, and both young and older children are already playing in the new sandbox.

Fridaskolan preschool in Uddevalla has also received the Hemsö Gift 2025:
Pia Berg, principal at Fridaskolan preschool in Uddevalla– A contribution like this is incredibly welcome for us, as we’re operating on a tight budget. It means we can go the extra mile for the children. We have a lot of asphalt on our playground, and now we want to use the contribution from Hemsö to create a ‘space within a space’ there – perhaps in the form of a pergola with some plants and an obstacle course.
