The Stavsborg School
A new school with focus on sustainability and space efficiency
Together with Nacka Municipality, Hemsö has developed a new primary school in Älta to replace the former Stavsborg School. Student numbers are steadily increasing in the neighbourhood and existing premises are not sufficient for future needs. A 25-year lease has been signed with Nacka Municipality.
Älta is growing and the need for school and sports facilities will increase steadily in the coming years. The new Stavsborgsskolan is a modern and appropriate school with a strong focus on sustainability and space efficiency. It has a rentable area of approximately 13,000 square metres with space for approximately 1,200 students from preschool class to grade 9.
Initially, parts of the school will also be used as a pre-school. The school building houses two sports halls and the premises can also be used by cultural and sports associations in the evenings and at weekends.
The new school was completed for the autumn term of 2023 and the building is certified according to Miljöbyggnad level Silver, and Gold for energy.
